Walter Guestbook

Thank you for visiting our pages. We would love it if you would Add (click here) to this guestbook we are keeping!
My dad, Edward Schoessler, used to tell us stories that his dad, Jacob Schoessler, told of growing up in Walter...herding cattle and being attacked by wolves and surviving only by hiding in the midst of the cattle as they faced their horns toward the outside perimeter of a circle which saved his life, but left him covered in manure! He also told a story of his parents immigrating to America with his oldest brother. Apparently, uncle George had chicken pox and was isolated from his family as they arrived on Ellis Island. My grandmother didn't understand why they took her child and was very upset until they were reunited after a period of quarantine. I wish my dad were alive today to read all the wonderful information this web site has provided. I'm printing all the Schoessler info and saving it in a notebook for my children. Thank you!
