Gedcom Files related directly to Walter, Russia

This is a new site to generate shared interest for this town. Our goal is to supply a meeting place for those researching the town of Walter. If you have any GEDCOM files to contribute please e-mail your file to this address ts123@molalla.net with the file as an attachment. For instruction how to send an attachment, click here. In the body of the mail put the names contained in it, and any other pertinent information you would like to share. I will add your file to the list as soon as possible. Our objective is to allow those with family from this area to build databases from information contributed.

A GEDCOM file is a family tree usually created using a program such as Family Tree Maker, ect. The format they save in is GEDCOM (.ged).

Each of these files are downloadable. Click on the family name and it will download the contents to your computer and you can view it using your genealogy program. This will ALWAYS be a free service, and these files from this site will be used for sharing of information. The success of this effort depends on contributed material, and I thank in advance all those that help with that :)
Sincerely, Teresa (Butherus) Sardina

Dear friends, hopefully you need our small gedcom fil about our grandparents, were born in Walter. Mostly I saw, after we find you tremendous homepage, ancestors from Walter who went out to the States - for our Grandparents was the End in the Eastern part of Germany. If you can find some connections with known ancestors from other lineages, please give us information - we have nothing about our family in Walter. Thank you so much for your help. Henry Kosak

I’m trying to connect my great-grandparents to their family in Russia (or others who might have also immigrated to the US). I have recently discovered they (Jacob and Katherine) were from Walter. Hopefully, distribution of this GEDCOM will lead me to someone who has more information about my family.

These files have been put into "zip" files. Meaning they have been compressed and are in a format downloadable by the internet. To "unzip" these files you can download a program called Winzip if you are running Windows. Here is the web page to access that program: www.winzip.com. The download evaluation version is just fine for most all applications. Chances are you are going to need this program at some point anyway, "zipped" files are very popular on the internet. :)

To send your files, keep them in the original Gedcom format, I'll "zip" it. Thank you!!
